Syrian forces retake strategic airbase in Idlib
TEHRAN(Basirat): Syrian government forces retook a key airbase in the country’s northwest, Syrian state TV reported.

The broadcaster said Syrian troops fought their way into the strategic Abu al-Duhur airbase on Saturday, in Idlib Province, according to AP.

Abu al-Duhur came under siege by foreign-backed terrorists in 2015.

The advancement is part of the army’s ongoing operations to liberate Idlib.

On their way to the airport, Syrian soldiers also regained full control of several villages following heavy clashes with terrorists.

Syria has been fighting against foreign-backed terrorists since March 2011. The Syrian government says the Israeli regime and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri terrorist groups that are wreaking havoc in the country.
