Rouhani: JCPOA must lead to expansion of economic cooperation

Tehran, (Basirat) – Iranian president said to the British prime minister that the implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) must lead to expansion of economic cooperation and that Tehran welcomes presence of European companies in Iran.

'We should all spend efforts for successful and satisfactory implementation of the nuclear agreement and Iran is determined to remain committed to its duties so long as the other side will keep on doing so,' said President Hassan Rouhani in his Tuesday evening phone talk with Prime Minister David Cameron,(IRNA) reported.

Rouhani stressed the need for expansion of Iran-Britain cooperation in economic, cultural, scientific and political fields, adding that generating of dynamism in bilateral ties could benefit not only both nations, but also the regional and world nations.

'The past inaction in these fields needs to be mended relying on double-efforts,' he said.

President Rouhani meanwhile proposed the Tehran-London dialogue on regional development and restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East.

'Beyond doubt the status quo in Syria, Iraq and Yemen is unacceptable and we should all try to resolve the terrorism and instability problems in this important region,' he said.

The British prime minister congratulated the official implementation of the JCPOA and stressed the need for both sides' commitment to their undertakings.

Every involved party must remain committed to its duties in accordance with the JCPOA and Britain will definitely do so, Cameron said.
