US blacklisting of IRGC ‘terrorist act’

TEHRAN(Basirat): Iran’s Minister of Defense Hatami said Trump administration’s measure to sanction and label Iran’s Guard Corps as a terrorist organization is a “terrorist act”.

Brig. General Amir Hatami deemed any act of aggression against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) an attack on the whole Iranian establishment, saying "the IRGC, Iranian Army, and other branches of government are in a united front against any hostile measures and policies of the United States, and will not allow Washington to endanger the region’s security by spreading proxy wars and terrorism.”

Describing IRGC as a revolutionary organization in the service of all regional nations for defending the region’s peace and security, Hatami added, "any move to undermine this anti-terrorism organization will help the spread of terrorism and insecurity in the region and the world.”

"It is blatantly clear that the Zionist lobbying is behind such hostile measures by the US, which will ultimately hurt the people and army of the US itself,” he said.

Hatami maintained that Trump has chosen a path which would lead the world toward more war and bloodshed, adding "Trump should better avoid taking a decision that would turn his dismissal from power into a global call and a necessary measure for putting an end to war, violence and insecurity.”
