TEHRAN(Basirat): Chiefs of staff of armed forces of Iran, Russia and Turkey met in Russia on Tuesday to discuss the latest developments underway in Syria.
During the meeting in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi, Iran's
Major-General Mohammad Baqeri and his Russian and Turkish counterparts
reviewed the situation in Syria given the agreements reached in the
course of peace talks in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The participating
officials also discussed the ongoing situation in the four
de-escalation zones in Syria and how the ceasefire is being observed by
the warring sides in these areas. The fight against terrorism in
different areas of Syria was also on the agenda of talks.
The
meeting of the top military officials comes a day before the presidents
of the three countries, as the main guarantors of Syria peace talks in
Astana, are to meet in Sochi.
