The US Isolation in the United Nation General Assembly

TEHRAN (Basirat): Donald Trump the US president a few weeks ago in his speech being delivered in the White House officially designated Quds as the Zionist regime’s capital. He also ordered the US officials to prepare the ground to move Unites State’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Quds. Trumpʼs decision confronted the whole world’s disapprobation.

Even more the US allies declared their own disapproval of his decision.Nikki Haley the US representative in United Nation in an attempt also vetoed the UN resolution supporting Quds. Having done this action, Trump showed that he is not determined to retract his decision. But it was not the whole story. The United Nation general assembly assertively stood against the Trump’s decision. The UN also approved a resolution protocol to refuse to make any changes in Quds current situation by a decisive vote of 128 to 9, with 35 abstentions. This resolution strongly decries and refuses any probable changes if made to Quds structure. It also insists that any structural changes on this city not be made or cancelled in advance. Furthermore; based on this resolution the US recognition of Quds as the Zionist regime’s capital was severely condemned. Previously the United State had vetoed Egypt’s offered bill about Quds. In that bill offered by Egypt had stated that Quds issues needed to be settled only through talks and any decision or acts regarding that made or done by the US which leads to some changes in this city structure or nature is legally considered a violation of law and has no legal value or credit. If done, it should be reverted to its primary state based on the UN resolutions. However, the main point regarding this issue is the US isolation in UN. The US along with Canada, Zionist regime, The Czech Republic, Marshall Islands, Federates State of Micronesia, Nauru, Belau and Panama were the only ones which gave a nay vote to this resolution. Some US main and close allies including The UK and France opted not to accompany the US regarding Quds issue. This could be deemed as a great hit of Trumps to the US position in the world. Because the UN is basically an American Organization .Plus, the US billions of dollars spent on this unit have vastly influenced the UNʼS decision in favor of Washington’s interests. Nevertheless, Trump’s attempt to call Quds as the capital of Zionist regime not only had lots of disapprovals with it, but also did blemish the US image in UN. On the threshold of the UN urgent meeting Nikki Haley officially announced that if anyone decides to vote against Zionist regime should be expecting the US harsh reaction. Benjamin Netanyahu the Zionist regime prime minister before polling and approving the resolution in the UN general assembly meeting in Quds subject. He showed reactions and called the UN the house of lie. However, Zionist regime paper Haaretz wrote that: This UN action has provoked Zionist regime’s resentment and was an overwhelming slap on Trump’s face (a response to his ill-advised decision).
CNN also reported that both U.S and Zionist regime have remained isolated regarding Quds issue and in their foreign policy. A leading point regarding this resolution is that the US seems to have lost its status in the UN and even was unable to prevent the bill from being approved with its bully and threatening language. It should be said that the UN decisions are not specifically warrantied to be implemented. They should be verified and approved by the Security Council as well. Since Trump’s decision regarding Quds was not accepted and approved by a large number of states we can conclude that his policies have inflicted a defeat. There are some indications that we should be waiting for emerge of a new age. An age that the US has lost its erstwhile status and can never play the role of a superpower or influential country. This can be an end to the world’s monopolar system which indicates a new isolated and weakened US in the world.
