President: JCPOA solid basis for more extensive Iran-EU cooperation

TEHRAN(Basirat): President Hassan Rouhani says adherence to the JCPOA can lay a very solid ground for establishment of more extensive cooperation between Iran and the European Union and guarantee peace and security in the world and the region.
President Rouhani made the remarks while receiving the credentials of Polish Ambassador Jaroslaw Marcin Domanski in Tehran on Saturday.

He referred to the status of Poland in the European Union and its role as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the coming months, and said as long as the negotiating parties keep loyal to their JCPOA commitments, Tehran will abide by its commitments and 'we believe that the JCPOA's firmness will give hope to the world community to settle problems through diplomacy and any move to undermine it will mean dealing a blow to the diplomatic measures'.

He noted that today, the world community, except one or two countries, support the JCPOA and undoubtedly, the US administration has committed some calculation errors in this connection and if it leaves the JCPOA, it will come to know that it has committed a grave mistake politically.

He went on to underline the continued cordial and growing ties between Iran and Poland, and said expansion of the ties is of high significance regarding age-old and positive background of the two sides and the scientific and economic capacity available for the purpose and through facilitating of banking relations they can activate current capacities in favor of interests of the two nations.

Domanski, for his part, said that his country wants promotion of ties based on trust and friendship.

Poland has always been supporting the JCPOA and considered it as a means for peace and stability in the region, said the diplomat, adding that as a key EU-member and non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Poland will in the coming months strive for sustainability of the JCPOA.

He concluded that Polish investors are willing to contribute and cooperate in Iran in various economic domains.
