TEHRAN(Basirat): Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman denounced using chemical weapons by any country and in any part of the world.
Bahram Qasemi referred to chemical attack in Douma, Eastern Ghouta,
saying the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the use of such
weapons by any party and anywhere in the world based on its principled
policies and religious and moral teachings and as one of the victims of
chemical weapons.
The allegation as regard using chemical weapons
by the Syrian Government in Douma, Damascus is not compatible with
realities, Qasemi added.
The Syrian government has had a good
cooperation with the United Nations on chemical issues, and the
international community, after joining the Nuclear Non-Proliferation
Treaty(NPT),destroyed all its chemical weapons and its manufacturing
facilities, he noted.
While, Syrian Army has the upper-hand in battle field against armed terrorists, using chemical weapons seems illogical, he said.
Such
claims by the US and some Western countries is an indication of a new
plot against the Syrian government and people, and an excuse for
military action against them, Qasemi said
It will definitely increase the complexity of the situation in this country and region,” he added.
Qasemi
reiterated that it will make terrorists more serious in their crimes,
which, of course, will not be in the interests of peace, stability and
security of the region and the world.
