TEHRAN(Basirat): Deputy Minister of Education Rezvan Hakimzadeh said on Monday that a sum of 293,366 Afghan children are studying in Iran's primary schools.
He made the remarks in a meeting with first secretary of Afghanistan
Embassy and in charge of education of Afghans in Iran Hosseinali
Hosseini and the accompanying delegation.
Hakimzadeh said educational and cultural exchanges between Iran and Afghanistan is to cause development of all-out ties.
During
the period of the academic year of 1396-97, a number of 322,450 pupils
from Afghanistan are studying in all educational levels in Iran and this
is 91 percent of total foreign citizens studying in Iran.
He pointed to the Supreme Leader's order to enroll foreign children in Iranian schools.
In this direction a memorandum of understanding has been prepared for signatures of Iran and Afghanistan officials.
He
said that literacy Movement as well as Iran's Educational Industry have
announced their readiness to cooperate in this direction for educating
Afghanistan pupils as well as teachers.
Hakimzadeh underlined
that interaction between the two Education Ministries as well as
educational and scientific exchanges between the two states will prepare
ground for sustainable strategic cooperation.
