He strongly condemned the recent attacks by Saudi Arabian aircrafts in the
civilian targets in various cities of Yemen especially brutal attack to a
wedding ceremony in Hajja province which killed and wounded dozens of innocent
Yemeni citizens including women and children.
Ghassemi expressed his deep sympathy with the survivors of victims of this
violent and inhuman behavior and said, "exacerbation of bombardment of
residential areas in this impoverished country indicates the complete
desperation and failure of intruders in Yemen to materialize their malicious
objectives.”
He further termed the weaponry support of some Western countries from Saudi
Arabia ‘irresponsible’ and said, "attacking residential areas and civilian
positions and preventing international organizations and institutions from
conveying relief services to the oppressed people of this country contravene
international norms.”
In conclusion, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ghassemi called on the United Nations
and other responsible organizations to make their utmost efforts to prevent
Saudi Arabia from attacking Yemeni people.
