Why Germany Has Rebuffed US with Defense Budget Cut

TEHRAN (Basirat): German politicians have rebuffed comments made by Richard Grenell, the US ambassador in Berlin, about Germany's planned defense spending over the next few years.
Why Germany Has Rebuffed US with Defense Budget Cut
This came after the US ambassador in Berlin criticized the Germany government's political decisions, saying that the 45 billion euros (51 billion US dollars) planned for the defense budget that was laid out by Germany's Finance Minister Olaf Scholz was too little.

Grenell "is a complete diplomatic failure," Carsten Schneider, first secretary of the German Social Democrats (SPD) parliamentary group, said on Tuesday. Wolfgang Kubicki, vice-president of the German Free Democratic Party (FDP), was more pronounced in his criticism and said Germany should immediately declare "Richard Grenell a persona non grata. Any US diplomat who acts like a high commissioner of an occupying power must learn that our tolerance also knows its limits.”

The message should be clear: Germany has no intention to waste its money on America’s endless wars and paranoia over alleged threats from Russia, China or Iran. This goes against the warmongering policies of the present occupants of the Pentagon and a country trapped in an endless cycle of avoidable conflicts and global seclusion. This is a whole new world, in which when the bankrupt United States sneezes, the rest of the world no longer catches cold; everyone just gets the flu shot.

To a remarkable degree, the serious concern shouldn't be a cut in German budget defense but the War Party itself, the neocon faction that's still fighting the retired generals' wars, and as a consequence, alienating frustrated and "frightened" friends and allies like Germany.

The urgent problem, therefore, is not to increase military budgets of NATO members or wage trade wars and manufacture new threats, but to end the endless war and unilateral attitude that has cost the American people, as President Trump once said, "seven trillion US dollars – trillion with a T, and got nothing."

In all fairness, the United States has been, and still is, destabilizing and militarizing not just the Middle East and Europe, but the planet. If still in doubt, take a good look at the Pentagon regime’s military proposed budget for this year and those at of Germany or China and Russia. There is a tremendous difference here.

The Pentagon’s budget of 750 billion dollars for 2019 is intended to manufacture new national security threats, institutionalize the endless war, leave generals to do their damnedest with a far longer list of failed nations, and to expand the military-industrial complex with obviously more recommitment to doing more of the same self-defeating policy that has taken America nowhere and destabilized the planet.

On the other hand, the defense budgets of countries like Germany or Russia and China are single digit, miles away from the ruling reality of Pentagon's paranoia and war-making. They even plan to lower their defense budget growth rates in the coming years, which are only designed for safeguarding their national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

It means what it means: Germany’s limited budget – or those of Russia and China – are not crafted to throw grenades at other nations, or to get around the facts for war efforts in Europe, the Middle East and South China Sea, or to compete with the 750-billion US dollar military budget that the Pentagon regime insists is for "the increasing threat from Russia," and for "developing unmanned Navy vessels that could help fight China."

These budget have all been crafted to promote international peace and regional security. This is a whole new world order, in which there is no more room for America’s warmongering, scaremongering, and unilateralism.
