TEHRAN (Basirat)- Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia- Pacific and Commonwealth Affairs Ibrahim Rahimpour and his Moldovan counterpart Lilian Dadi called for the expansion of mutual cooperation.

During the meeting in Moldovas capital Chisinau, Rahimpour and Dadi explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral ties in different areas.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister underlined the importance of benefits of bilateral and regional cooperation for nations of Iran and Moldova, and said, "There are many areas for the expansion of relations, including agriculture, industry and commerce.”
Dadi, for his part, underlined the importance of the issues discussed between the two sides, and said, "Iran has always been an important regional player and it will remain to be so and hence we are making efforts to broaden our cooperation.”
The Moldova’s deputy foreign minister said that Moldova is willing to boost its relations with Iran, adding, "There are many capacities for achieving this goal and the two countries should benefit from it.”
On Friday, Rahimpour met Moldovas Foreign Minister Andrei Galbur and the two sides stressed expansion of all-out ties.
Rahimpour said that the ground is ready for the development of ties between Iran and Moldova in all areas, particularly in the field of economy.
He referred to Iran’s geopolitical position in the North-South corridor and called for development of cooperation between Tehran and Chisinau for using this transit route.
Moldovas foreign minister who is also deputy prime minister, for his part, said that the two countries following the removal of sanctions against Iran should seize the chance to enhance their cooperation in all spheres.
Moldova is ready to sign cooperation documents to boost all-out ties with Tehran, he said.
Appointment of Moldovas accredited ambassador to Iran is an opportunity for the two countries to improve relations, Rahimpour and Galbur also stressed during the meeting.
Rahimpour is in the Republic of Moldova for an official two day visit.
