TEHRAN(Basirat): Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari says Islam is the most important factor of unity between Iranian and Pakistani nations.
General Jafari made the remarks in a meeting with Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Tehran on Tuesday.
He
said despite plots and hostilities of enemies against Islamic Ummah and
regional states, relations between Iran and Pakistan have deepened
further.
The two sides underlined expansion of military and
defensive relations, broadening of cooperation and engagement in
providing security on common borders to confront categorically the
bandits and terrorists.
The IRGC Chief said common culture and
language of parts of Pakistan are shared with Iranian people's and this
shows depth of mutual ties.
'We are informed that there are
efforts underway in the region for insecurity of and its expansion.
Preventive measures, relying on popular along with the armed and
security forces would check insecurity in the country,' he added.
Major
General Jafari said that enjoying 40 years of experience in confronting
enemy's threats, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to transfer
experience of defense and popular resistance to Pakistan,' he added.
The
Pak army commander voiced pleasure over his visit to Iran, and said,
'The two Iranian and Pakistani nations, enjoy valuable and old
civilization and history and this has led to more grounds for
cooperation.'
He went on to say that besides religion and
culture, common borders of Iran and Pakistan double importance of
expansion of relations between Iran and Pakistan.
