TEHRAN(Basirat): Various Iranian cities and towns were the scene of mass rallies celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on Monday. The revolution toppled the US-backed Pahlavi monarchy and set the stage for the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Here is a selection of photos taken during mass rallies around Iran:

TEHRAN(Bsirat): Why don’t the Iranian people trust the American government? Does it date back to the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and the events that followed? Or, is it based on older, historical events?

TEHRAN(Basirat): Ahead of the Labor Day, thousands of laborers and entrepreneurs from across the nation gathered at Imam Khomeini Hussayniyeh to meet with Ayatollah Khamenei-- the Leader of the Islamic Revolution-- on Monday, April 30, 2018. At this meeting Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the US’s plot consists of abetting and equipping some countries for encountering Iran, and further stated: “If these countries gain wisdom, they won’t get involved in any conflict against Iran; but, if they enter a war with Iran, they will certainly be struck down.”
