TEHRAN (Basirat)- The Critical Response Command and other units will patrol key public areas around New York as an enhanced security measure in response to deadly truck attack on a Christmas market in the German capital, New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson Stephen Davis told Sputnik on Tuesday.

market on the Breitscheidplatz square, killing 12 people and injuring 48
more. The country's Interior Ministry has labeled the incident a
terrorist attack.
"The NYPD is monitoring the events in Germany and around the world
today. The Department has moved highly trained teams, including the
Critical Response Command, to high profile locations around New York
City," Davis said.
Davis added that they will do further assessment of the tragic events in Berlin to inform the police department.
"In the coming days, we will look to learn more about what occurred to
inform the NYPD’s operations, deployments, and training of officers," he
said.
Following the incident, the police detained a suspect, a Pakistani
citizen, who arrived to the German town of Passau on December 31, 2015.
