Rouhani to start tour of Italy and France on January 25
TEHRAN,(Basirat)- President Hassan Rouhani will start his tour of Italy and France on January 25 with his first stop in Rome, Fars reported.
In his visit to Italy Rouhani is scheduled to meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. Rouhani will also pay his first visit to the Vatican to meet Pope Francis,(Tehran Times) reported .
Rouhani is due to leave Rome for Paris on January 27 to meet with high-ranking French officials, including President Francois Hollande and Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.
Rouhani was scheduled to start his visits to the two Western European countries in mid-November, but the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13 changed the schedule.
Ties between Iran and Europe have warmed up since the world powers and the Islamic republic clinched a nuclear agreement in July 2015.
