IRGC Official Condemns British PM's Remarks
A senior Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) official deplored the recent remarks by British Prime Minister Theresa May against Iran, and said Britain's policies are one of the major causes of insecurity in the region.
"The British seek to escape forward by such comments. The aliens (the
trans-regional states) have been the main fomenters of insecurity in our region
and Britain is among the countries which have played an important role in
stirring crises and insecurity in this region and West Asia," Advisor to the
Supreme Leader's Representative at the IRGC Yadollah Javani said on Sunday.
Noting that meeting the regional nations' interests is one of the Islamic
Revolution's goals pursued through increasing synergy among the countries of the
region and ending the aliens' presence, he said, "The British are now concerned
because the Islamic Revolution is attaining this goal."
Before meeting with US President Donald Trump, May said that Iran has influences
from Tehran to the Mediterranean region and that Britain should back its friends
in dealing with Iran.
In relevant remarks on Saturday, Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council (EC)
Mohsen Rezayee blasted May's remarks, and said the international community is
aware of UK's plots.
"People hate you (British government) in a way that where there is a plot people
will be suspicious to the clandestine role of Britain," Rezayee wrote on his
Instagram page.
"Such words are only good to give more courage to Britain’s allies such as Saudi
Arabia and that after their consecutive defeats in Iraq, Syria and Yemen," he
added.
Rezayee said anyway, the British premier should be asked, "where have you been
till now”?!
"It is about forty years that Iran has captured hearts of people in the region
but you are in the region for 200 years, people hate you and where there is a
plot, people will become instantly suspicious of the clandestine plots," he
added.
