Speaking at a television talk show on Saturday night, Brigadier General Hossein
Salami paid tribute to Mohsen Hojaji, a member of the Iranian advisory support
team in Syria who was taken captive by the Daesh Takfiri group near the Iraqi
border and beheaded two days later.
The IRGC will completely destroy the ISIL, the commander added, stressing that
the blow the terrorists are going to receive this time will be "heavier and
harsher” than before, when the IRGC bombed positions of Daesh in Syria in June
in response to a terrorist attack in Tehran.
Highlighting Iran’s great military capabilities, General Salami said the pace of
production of missiles and the number of the projectiles are so high that the
IRGC is trying to figure out how to stockpile the missiles.
In a message following the martyrdom of Hojaji, Commander of the IRGC Quds Force
Major General Qassem Soleimani said Iran will exact a terrible revenge against
Daesh.
In a separate message, IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad
Pakpour likened Hojaji’s martyrdom to that of Imam Hossein (AS), the third
Shiite Imam, who was beheaded in the Battle of Karbala’ on 10 October 680 by
Yazid's army.
