Iran's defense minister vows to fortify support for Resistance
TEHRAN (Basirat) :Iranian Defense Minister General Hatami told Al-Alam news network that Iran’s support for the resistance front will be further shored up in president Rouhani’s second term.
"Maybe the main source of fear for arrogant powers in dealing with us and resistance axis is that they do not want to let such a role model exist in the region,” affirmed the Iranian General.
General Hatami stressed that what has been done so far has been at the level of advisory support and in response to the call of help from the legitimate governments of Iraq and Syria. He boasted that the capabilities of the Iranian armed forces is much higher than what is staged in these countries, however, this has been in response to what has been needed and the same strategy will be followed from now on. He attributed the helps in line with guaranteeing security in the region. "Our national security and interest demands us to counter instability in the region as it may trouble our country in the future.”
Touching upon the agendas of the defense ministry in the 12 administration, he asserted that the ministry will be following the agendas laid out in the past with focus on increasing the rate of national security. He articulated that the ministry will continue its initiatives in strengthening the power of domestic ballistic and cruise missiles.
Electric warfare, missiles’ destructive power, and maneuverability were some of the areas he said are worked on to improve the defense system of Iran. Air and marine sections were the other areas, the Iranian general reassured that more measures will be taken to enhance the military power.
He also stated that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoy real solidarity and defense ministry will provide all the needs of all armed forces of the country without any discrimination.
He also promised that good measures will be finalized in terms of producing heavy airplanes in the 4 year period of the 12th administration.
