TEHRAN(Basirat): Tehran Temporary Friday Prayer Leader Seyyed Ahmad Khatami said that the US has violated both letter and spirit of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), 'leaving nothing left of it'.
"The Iranian officials have unanimously announced and will repeat it
again that the 2015 landmark nuclear deal is not renegotiable. "This is a
correct stance and we reiterate it,” Ayatollah Khatami said while
addressing the worshippers at Tehran University compose.
Advising
officials not to pin their hopes on Europe, Khatami said, "If EU is
poised to choose one side between US and Iran, it will certainly pick up
the US.”
Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah khatami touched upon
the Iraqi Kurdistan referendum, saying despite all warnings, officials
of the Iraqi Kurdistan held the poll last month but fortunately, the
world has not recognized the vote.
"Even the US has issued a
statement saying that it does not recognize the poll and the Zionist
regime which was the only supporter of the referendum before it
happened, did not support it officially after that.”
He hailed
the alliance between Iran, Iraq and Turkey regarding the regional
developments sying that the trio "should conclude a strong deal' to end
certain regioanl crises.
Referring to the Las Vegas shooting
incident, the prayer leader condemned the act of terror saying, "killing
human beings is condemned everywhere, whether it be in Las Vegas or in
Yemen, Syria and Bahrain.”
The cleric also called on the US
citizens to urge their statesmen and stateswomen to stop interfering in
other countries' affairs and think of their country and fellow
countrymen's security.
Wherever there is a crisis, trace of US is evident there, he said.
