Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Masoud Jazayeri said Tuesday that the US administration "only understands swear words," adding that it needs "shocks" to realize "the new meaning of power in the world."
The remark comes after Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Baker
said that US' calls to label the Revolutionary Guards a "terrorist
group" will mean Washington itself supports terrorists. Chief of the
Revolutionary Guards Mohammad Ali Jafari has also vowed to equate US
forces with the terrorist group Daesh (ISIS).
US President Donald Trump is reported to be considering designating the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization. The Washington Post has reported that Trump intended to "decertify" the nuclear deal with Iran next week. According to the newspaper, Trump is expected to deliver a speech on October 12, when he opens the door to modifying the agreement as part of a tougher approach toward Iran.
Trump has repeatedly spoken in favor of renegotiating Iran's nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and called for tougher measures against Tehran's attempts to develop its nuclear program. On October 5th, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran has "not lived up to the spirit of their agreement" and added that he "will be discussing that tonight."In July, Washington slapped Tehran with a new round of sanctions, targeting its ballistic missile program. Iran responded to the unilateral US move by increasing the funding of the program.
