IRGC Commander Hits Back at Trump for Anti-Iran Allegation

TEHRAN(Basirat): Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari dismissed as “baseless” US President Donald Trump’s claim that Tehran is responsible for a Yemeni missile launch against Riyadh.

"The claim that the missile was delivered to Yemen by Iran is baseless,” Major General Jafari told reporters on the sidelines of a memorial service held in Tehran on Sunday for the late father of senior Iranian commander Major General Qassem Soleimani.

The allegations are unfounded because, basically, the Islamic Republic does not have access to Yemen to transfer such missiles, he added.

"These missiles have been manufactured by the Yemenis and their military industries,” the commander stressed.

Late on Saturday, a Riyadh-based media outlet reported that Saudi Arabia’s air force had intercepted a ballistic missile that had been launched from Yemen over the Saudi capital.

Trump, responding to the attack, expressed his support for the Saudi-led coalition and put the blame on Iran, according to media reports.

The Yemeni ballistic missile attack came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the coalition led by the Riyadh regime.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
