Deputy FM: Iran to Continue Developing Missile Program for Defensive Purposes

TEHRAN(Basirat): Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi underlined that Iran will keep on improving its defense capabilities, including advanced missile program.

"Iran’s defensive capabilities and global approval rate is at all time high record today," Araqchi said on Friday.

He pointed to US President Donald Trump's anti-Iran rhetoric, and said, "All countries and societies of the world, and the whole international community stood unanimously against US president in defending Iran and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).”

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a phone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron warned that adding or omitting certain parts from the 2015 nuclear deal will lead to the collapse of the internationally-endorsed agreement.

"In Iran's view, the full and precise implementation of the nuclear deal is an important test for other important cooperation on the international scene and, on the other hand, adding a part to the nuclear deal or omitting certain parts of it will lead to the full collapse of the agreement," President Rouhani said during the phone talks.
