Regional political figures openly speak of US mischievous acts: Speaker
TEHRAN(Basirat): Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Thursday that given the negative atmosphere emerged against the US in the region, regional political figures can now speak of the US’ mischievous acts explicitly.
Larijani who visited Istanbul to attend the 10th meeting of the Asian
Parliamentary Assembly told reporters prior to leaving for Tehran that
US’ apparent behavior is different from its actions, but regional
countries and political figures are so vigilant that they understand its
mischievous acts and express them openly.
Larijani also hailed Asia’s capacities for economic development, saying that the Asian Parliamentary Assembly should pave the way for using them.
Pointing to holding the next round of the event in Pakistan, he said that there exist a good proximity between Iran, Turkey and Pakistan which can help establish stability in the region.
Commenting on bilateral talks with parliamentary delegations of participating states in the meeting, Larijani said that he offered proposals for cooperation in fields of agriculture, energy, tourism and implementation of developmental projects.
Stressing the need for bolstering trade relations with Turkey, he said that Iran has set a target of 30 billion dollars in trade with the country. Therefore, necessary conditions for achieving the goals should be prepared.
Larijani arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday morning to attend the 10th meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and prior to the start of the meeting he sat down for talks with his Turkish counterpart Ismail Kahraman.
