TEHRAN(Basirat): The UN Security Council special session on Iran's recent developments was yet another heavy defeat for Donald Trump's administration, said Mahmoud Vaezi, Chief of Staff of Iran's President Office.

Members of the United Nations Security Council convened Friday evening
on the request of the United States to address the human rights issue in
Iran in the wake of demonstrations held in different parts of the
country recently, mostly staged due to bad economic conditions.
'Once
again, it was proved that all measures adopted by Trump and his
administration against Iran and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action
(JCPOA) bode for nothing but frustration and isolation for them,' Vaezi
told the Islamic Republic News Agency in an interview on Saturday.
'The
decisive opposition expressed by a majority of the UNSC members towards
US manipulation of the global body in a bid to rally pressure on Iran
for recent demonstrations in the country is meant to be a significant
incident, promising opening of a new chapter in the international
relations,' he said.
A majority of the UNSC members have warned
the United States against intervening in the internal affairs of other
nations, including Iran and have called for the nuclear deal between
Iran and the major world powers, known as the JCPOA, to be fully
implemented, he stressed.
'The new US administration, in the face of Iran's principled stance, feels to be globally isolated more than ever,' Vaezi said.
