TEHRAN(Basirat): High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that the European Union has put on the agenda preserving the JCPOA and having cooperation with Iran.
Mogherini made the remarks Monday before the Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
"Today
on the agenda of FMs we have first and foremost put our work to
preserve the nuclear deal with Iran; I will update the ministers on the
good joint commission meeting,” she said.
Referring to the JCPOA
Joint Commission meeting held in Vienna on Friday, she said, 'We met in
Vienna last Friday; the remaining countries without the US met at the
level of deputy ministers together also with Director General of the
IAEA Yukiya Amano who certified for the 11th time that Iran is fully
compliant with all its nuclear related commitments on the deal.”
"So
we’ll work on this we will also have with the ministers the opportunity
to exchange and take decisions so you will see a set of conclusions
adopted today.”
This is while, Secretary General of European
External Action Service Helga Schmid in a statement on Friday said that
members of the JCPOA reiterated their commitment to implement nuclear
deal in good faith in a full, regular and effective manner.
Based
on the statement, members of the JCPOA described lifting
nuclear-related sanctions in a bid to normalize economic and trade ties
with Iran as integral part of the nuclear deal.
