The elections in Lebanon were held in conditions that the Saudis and their
allies had launched a heavy propaganda against Hezbollah and "Saudi Arabia spent
$200mln" to prevent the resistance group's victory, General Soleimani said.
"Hezbollah for the first time grabbed 74 of the 128 seats of the Lebanese
parliament and now all the parliament members will be resistance forces," he
added, saying that Hezbollah's candidate in Beirut for the first time in
Lebanon's history gained the most votes in the city.
General elections were held in Lebanon on 6 May 2018. They were originally
scheduled for 2013, but due to the repeated failure of the Parliament to elect a
new President, the parliamentary term was extended, first until 2017 and then
until 2018.
