The heads of the country’s executive, legislative and judicial branches of
government made the decision during a meeting of the Supreme Economic
Coordination Council in Tehran on Tuesday.
During the session, the top officials highlighted the enemies’ propaganda
campaign and pressures aimed at fomenting disappointment in Iran, and agreed to
form a joint task force comprising representatives of the three branches of the
government.
The main mission of the task force, which will cooperate with Iranian media
outlets, is to properly disseminate information to counter the enemy’s
propaganda campaign against the country.
In the meeting, the members of the Supreme Economic Coordination Council also
emphasized that the country's three branches of power are determined to solve
the people’s economic problems."
In a speech in Tehran on Wednesday, Rouhani said the real problem the county is
now facing is the ongoing "psychological warfare” not the economic, cultural or
security challenges.
Denouncing the foreign news sources that foment disappointment in Iran and
mislead the public opinion, the president said all Iranians should join hands to
fight the enemy’s psychological war.
He also said that the volatility of the gold, automobile and foreign currency
markets in Iran is rooted in the psychological war rather than in real economic
realities.
The president then took a swipe at US President Donald Trump administration’s
hostile policies against Iran, saying that while all US administrations have
been enemies of Iran, the incumbent president is "worse, more vicious, and with
more evil plots” than his predecessors.
