Three Palestinians were injured as Israeli forces carried out airstrikes
against an area on the border between Egypt's troubled Sinai Peninsula and the
besieged Gaza Strip.
Palestinian Ma’an news agency reported that the injured were transferred to the
Abu Youssef al-Najjar Hospital for treatment.
Israeli warplanes fired three missiles at the Salah al-Din site in the central
Gaza Strip.
Airstrikes also targeted a Hamas site in Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli planes further carried out an airstrike targeting an empty area east of
Gaza City.
Local sources told Ma'an that explosions were heard in various areas of the Gaza
Strip as Israeli drones flew above.
Early on Saturday, Israeli warplanes had carried out a number of airstrikes
against the southern part of the Gaza Strip, with no reports of casualties or
damage available.
The Israeli military alleged in a statement that the aerial bombardment was in
retaliation for a barrage of at least 17 rockets or mortars launched by Hamas
into the occupied Palestinian territories.
