8 Civilian Casualties in Saudi-Led Naval Attack on Yemeni Village

A flotilla of the Saudi-led military coalition shelled Umm al-Dhab village near Abs in Yemen’s northwestern province of Hajjah on Saturday night, killing and injuring at least eight local residents, according to al-Masirah TV.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni Army’s missile unit and drone squads, backed by the popular committee fighters, launched a coordinated offensive on the camps of the Saudi-led coalition forces along Yemen’s western coastal areas.
A Yemeni military source said the ballistic missile attacks and raids by pilotless aircraft have killed and injured a number of the Saudi-led intruding forces.
Yemen’s Army and the committees of popular forces have recently established the Drone Unit to fight off the Saudi-led mercenaries and their telecommunication equipment more effectively.
The first drone strike by the Yemeni forces occurred on July 5, when the remote-controlled aircraft attacked the headquarters of the Saudi-led coalition in the city of Aden.
Yemen’s fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, an ally of Riyadh, calls Aden the capital of his self-proclaimed government.
Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been waging a war against Yemen since early 2015.
They have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in Yemen in an attempt to restore power to Hadi.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
