match. He beat Chinese Sun Hongyi and Ruslan Zhaparov from Kazakhstan
respectively to reach the final match.
Rajabi defeated Uzbekistan’s Dmitriy Shokin 3-2 in the final match and claimed a
gold medal.
Iranian freestyle wrestlers have previously won three gold medals in the Games.
Hassan Yazdani (86kg), Alireza Karimi (97kg) and Parviz Hadi (125kg) won three
gold medals.
The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as
Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event scheduled to be held
from 18 August to 2 September in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.
