Iranian handicrafts on show in Beirut

TEHRAN (Basirat): An exhibition of Iranian handicrafts has opened its doors to the public in Beirut, Lebanon.

Over 60 Iranian artisans are promoting their works to visitors in the event, which is organized by Iran’s embassy, Mehr reported.
Visitors also can taste Iranian food and enjoy traditional Persian music.
An opening ceremony was held on December 17 with several high-ranking authorities in attendance, the report said.
"This is an ample opportunity for both countries to boost cultural cooperation,” Iranian ambassador to Beirut Mohammad-Jalal Firouznia said, adding, "We believe that there are many grounds of cooperation between Iran and Lebanon.”
For his part, Lebanese Minister of Tourism Avedis Guidanian touched upon the importance of holding such events for increasing interactions between artisans of the two nations.
Carpeting, marquetry, woodcarving, tilework, pottery, stonework and personal ornamentation are amongst works selected for the event, running through December 27.
