"Contrasting the constant lies that [Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin] Netanyahu, [US President Donald] Trump and Associates tell about Iran,
the IAEA once again—and for the umpteenth time—affirms our standing by our word
and adhering to the nuclear accord,” Zarif tweeted on Monday.
Contrasting the constant lies that Netanyahu, Trump & Associates tell about
Iran, the #IAEA once again—and for the umpteenth time—affirms our standing by
our word and adhering to the nuclear accord that the US has illegally violated.
Our patience, however, is running thin.

Earlier in the day, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) once again
reaffirmed Iran's compliance with its nuclear-related commitments under the 2015
agreement. "Iran is implementing its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint
Comprehensive Plan of Action,” the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano said in
his introductory statement to the IAEA's Board of Governors in Vienna, referring
to the accord by its official name.
The accord was clinched in the Austrian capital between the Islamic Republic and
the P5+1 group of countries -- the United States, UK, France, Russia, and China
plus Germany. It lifted nuclear-related sanctions against Iran, which, in turn,
changed certain aspects of its nuclear energy program.
However, US President Donald Trump took Washington out of the landmark agreement
in May, reinstating the sanctions.
Zarif also reminded that the US had "illegally violated” the deal.
The withdrawal came although the agreement has been ratified in the form of a UN
Security Council resolution. Its unilateral character also overrode the deal’s
multilateral nature.
Amano further said that the IAEA would continue to verify the "non-diversion of
nuclear material" declared by Iran under its Safeguards Agreement.
However, Washington and Tel Aviv have been continually accusing Tehran’s nuclear
program of harboring a military aspect.
Netanyahu, who has turned numerous public appearances into dramatic speeches
targeting Iran, went live on television last April, putting on display what he
claimed to be records from a secret warehouse in Tehran. He claimed Israeli
agents had managed to break into the warehouse in an overnight raid and bring
back "half a ton of the material” consisting of 55,000 pages and another 55,000
files on 183 CDs.
The Israel premier's vaudeville -- which came only days before the US announced
its withdrawal from the 2015 multilateral nuclear deal with Iran -- was meant to
persuade the world that Iran had been lying about its nuclear program, without
providing even a single piece of evidence.
Besides constantly ruling out diversion of Iran’s nuclear activities towards
military purposes, the IAEA’s Board of Governors voted overwhelmingly in
December 2015, months after a nuclear deal was signed, in favor of a resolution
that closed the so-called possible military dimensions (PMD) case in the nuclear
program.
"Our patience, however, is running thin,” Zarif, meanwhile, concluded,
apparently echoing Iranian officials’ warnings that the country would only
remain in the nuclear deal as long as it secures its interests.
