Saudi Arabia Sets Trap for Southeast Asian Nations after Regional Failures
TEHRAN(Basirat) :Today, Saudi Arabia is busy spreading news of its failures in the Islamic world. Saudi king's luxurious trip to Southeast Asia is both aimed at addressing the regime’s economic problems and showing that it still has the upper hand in the Muslim world and even Asia. This is while that Yemeni missiles have struck terror in to the hearts of despotic king and princes of the regime.

It seems that Saudi Arabia has tied its existence to propagation of Iranophobia
and efforts to form a new anti-Iran coalition. In recent years, particularly
after King Salman assumed power in 2015, the Saudi regime’s hostility toward
Iran has outdone its relations with the Islamic Republic in a way that
Tehran-Riyadh ties were completely severed.
By adopting the dollar diplomacy, Saudi Arabia is seeking to contain Iran’s
influence in the region. These days, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is touring
Southeast Asia to rally support against Iran in quest of influence.
Saudi Arabia knows that it is a failed state in the face of Iran. The latest
developments in the region confirm Saudi failure in the region. As a result,
Riyadh has turned to certain countries for help. In fact, it is seeking to form
a coalition against Iran so that it can possibly confront it in the future.
Saudi Arabia’s anti-Iran rhetoric has intensified following Donald Trump’s
election as the 45th president of the United States.
One of the Saudi-led coalitions against Iran and the Resistance Front, which has
so failed, is the coalition which is waging war on Yemen. In 2015, the regime
grouped several Arab countries to start on the impoverished Arab country. Riyadh
collected those countries by giving them empty promises, but now, after 23
months of aggression, the war has turned into a big scandal and complete fiasco.
Now, the Arab states are no longer effective members of the coalition. This is
due to Yemeni forces’ development in the field of missile industry. Yemeni
missile can now target the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and any other invading countries.
Following its repeated failures in the region, the regime is now trying to
create another anti-Iran coalition in Southeast Asia. In view, King Salman’s
sweeping tour is aimed at firming up economic ties with nations in the region,
but in fact, considering Saudi-Malaysian recent joint statement against Iran,
aim of his trip is to provoke anti-Iran sentiments. This is while that the
kingdom is facing a budget deficit of nearly $100 billion caused by a sharp fall
in oil prices as well as Riyadh’s rising army expenditure, a large amount of
which is being funneled into a military campaign against Yemen.
However, some experts argue that King Salman’s month-long tour to South Asia
aims to get help from the region’s nations and address the kingdom’s economic
woes. Therefore, considering Riyadh’s huge budget shortfalls and flagging
economy, it is unlikely that the regime can form a coalition against Iran using
the diplomacy of dollar. But it will continue with its psychological war against
the Islamic Republic in Southeast Asia, an issue which cannot be overlooked.
These acts are just striking political shows which are hollow, like Trump’s. The
Saudi regime not only does not have the power to form a new coalition against
Iran, but also its record available from previous coalitions is now a roadmap in
front of Southeast Asian nations and these countries should know that joining a
Saudi-led coalition can cost them dearly.
