Leader Congratulates Iran U-21 Volleyballers on Winning World Title

In a message issued late Sunday, the Leader appreciated members of the Iranian team for winning the world’s championship title for the first time in history.
“In the Name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful. Dear youth I congratulate you on winning the world championship. You brought joy to the Iranian nation’s hearts; I thank you,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in the message, released by his official website.
In a final match held on Saturday in Manama, Bahrain, the Iranian team beat Italy 3-2 to conclude the 20th edition of the international tournament with total victory.
Iran had made it to the final four of the world championship in 2007 when it finished third.
The Iranians beat Brazil in three straight sets in the semi-finals of the tournament on Friday.
